| An introductory 8-hour class in the Japanese healing discipline. Based on ancient Buddhist and Christian traditions, Reiki was "rediscovered" in the mid-1800's by Japanese theologian Dr. Mikao Usui. The term is actually composed of two Japanese characters:
This universal life force can be channeled and focused by the trained practitioner to provide a source of healing power for the client. Reiki is also valuable as a tool for self-enlightenment. The special nature of the energy stimulates the intuition and can assist in integrating new concepts and ideas. Persons seriously interested in seeking enlightenment and enhanced self-awareness may choose to learn more about this discipline. The student is opened to awareness of the Universal Life Energy field for enlightenment and health through a series of initiations or "attunements" performed by the instructor or "Master". | An advanced class introducing the meaning of symbology in various cultures and the use of ancient symbols for enhanced effectiveness and enlightenment. Because its universal nature transcends time and space, Reiki can be used to treat persons and situations in a distant location as well as with hands-on techniques. It is this transcendent quality that makes Reiki so useful in emotional and addictive disorders. Even perceptions from past events respond to this ancient discipline.
These expanded applications of Reiki are accessed through the use of symbols that direct and assist the flow of energy. The first three Reiki symbols are explained and demonstrated. An attunement is performed to activate the student's awareness of these tools for healing and enlightenment. Special uses of Reiki symbols and absentee (long-distance) healing are practiced after the Level II attunement.
This 10-hour class is divided into two parts for ease of teaching and comprehension. A 3-hour intensive on symbols is offered one evening and the remaining 7-hour practicum the next day. Proof of Level I certification is required at time of registration. |
